At this year’s GDC Naughty Dog’s art director Robh Ruppel delivered a presentation about the creative process behind the game. That included several ideas and concepts that never made it into the final game: here’s the Uncharted 3 you never got to play.

Easter eggs

We love an in-joke, a giggle, a laugh and we really like finding them and showing off to all our mates that despite the lack of vitamin D in our lives we’ve managed to find another rude thing that Snake does to a woman on the PSP. So it is with typically arthritic largesse and knuckles like Jacob’s Crackers that we present our selection of the best easter eggs in…

You might have already read about a Naughty Dog job listing for a character artist responsible for “making million poly models game ready” for a “next-gen” game, and if so you probably got pretty excited. A million polygons is a lot, right? It’s certainly more than the ~30,000 poly models used in Uncharted 3. Is this evidence of Uncharted on PS4? Or a simple misunderstanding? Let’s investigate.

Uncharted 3

Man, we’re just no good at farewells. As we raise a quadruple gin to 2011, it’s a relief we at least have so many fantastic PlayStation memories to ponder. What’s that? Massive, debilitating online security breach, you say? Wait, look over there – it’s Uncharted 3 and PS Vita! Aside from Drake’s megaton Arabian expedition and Sony’s new handheld, we’ve also been treated to the genius of Portal 2, the…

Despite the sky-high standards developer Naughty Dog set itself with Among Thieves, it’s no shock that its follow-up blew us away. What is surprising is that there was something of a backlash (admittedly a modest one) against what took your Game Of The Year gong in a landslide.

Dare you enter… THE TWITTER PS3 ZONE? Well yes, obviously. That’s why you’re here. In this week’s Twitts round up we’ve got Hideo Kojima declaring his love for Sweden, the co-presidents of Naughty Dog trying to murder each other with fake pirate swords and a Crystal Palace footballer being flummoxed by a Resi 5 boss. Oh, and apparently Skyrim’s just like the Sarlacc Pit.

Break it down, you gravity-defying ancient tabby. Seeing a sabre cat cut an epic physics-failing boogie is almost enough to make us forgive Skyrim’s framerate woes in this week’s video round up. We’ve also got new a new trailer for I Am Alive, a Prototype 2 developer diary and Naughty Dog comparing Drake Deception’s main baddie to Bill Murray. She ain’t afraid of no ghost.

Last Of Us PS3

It was the best of times; it was the worst of times. This week’s headlines were dominated by announcements of two games – Every new detail of Naughty Dog’s new game The Last Of Us made you (and us) all wibbly and excited. The same can’t be said of Metal Gear Rising – but then it’s a Metal Gear title without Kojima. Go figure. All your best vitriol, rhetoric and…
