Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z ps3 review

They say too many cooks spoil the broth, and when the chefs in question already have a reputation for not taking the whole ‘hand washing after toilet trips’ rule too seriously, you can go ahead and pour that soup away. Such is the case with Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, a collaboration between Team Ninja, Spark Unlimited and Keiji Infanue’s Comcept. Only the latter studio’s rep was unsullied before, but they should all be ashamed after this.

Toukiden The Age Of Demons

“Ten hour sampler”. That’s what it says – there’s a PS Vita demo out today that’s longer than the average game. Whether it’s ten hours of content or a ten hour time limit isn’t clear but still. Long. Toukiden: The Age of Demons is a Monster Hunter-style action RPG where up to four players battle demons called Oni.

One Piece Pirate Warriors 2 review – borked buccaneer is a bottle of glum

One Piece Pirate Warriors 2

Curse you, repetitive strain injuries. My thumbs are shredded to absolute ribbons as a result of pressing triangle roughly 13,973 times during this scurvy third-person scrapper. Despite spectacular moves, stretchy-limbed seamen and alluring eye candy, limited combos and endless, identical cycles of attritional war turn this colourful fighter into a bit of a shipwreck.

Dynasty Warriors 8 ps3 review

Oi! Stop with those ‘same old story, I’ll turn the page now’ thoughts. Yes, this is another Dynasty Warriors game and, as the screenshot shows, far from a radical overhaul. iPads undergo more extreme redesigns than DW, but that doesn’t mean Omega Force’s battlefield beat-’em-up deserves to be sold down the river. This year’s game hides not just a number of brand-new mechanics under its vaguely sagging large-scale battle system, but a whole new mode, too.

One Piece Pirate Warriors PS3 Review

Within the first two minutes of playing One Piece you’ve panned through a city made of disco balls that has massive bubbles floating around it, been attacked by Inspector Gadget’s giant brother, stretched your limbs 30 feet, and inflated yourself to the size of a zorb. And it only gets stranger.

Dead Or Alive wouldn’t be Dead Or Alive without a swimsuit catalogue of improbably busty females to, er, smack around until they’re unconscious. But the fifth official entry in the series takes one step further (or backwards, depending on your perspective) by adding an even skimpier range of outfits for dedicated fans.

Warriors Orochi 3 PS3 review

Huge scale battles are the game's main selling point.

In just the prologue mission alone for Warriors Orochi 3 I defeated over two thousand enemies. Within a few hours, tens of thousands of soldiers and demons had perished, unable to stand up to the ferocious might of my square button. And that’s what this game is all about: numbers and scale.

Worst Move peripheral ever: we have a winner

Move sword

Look at it, just look at it. It might not be real but let’s try to think of a situation where a waving a foot and a half long plastic sword around won’t end in some sort of breakage or subconjunctival hematoma (Don’t Google it! Just think ‘eye briuse’ and move on). Apparently Joystiq report that it’s “okayed” by Tecmo but not 100% official”.
