Shuhei Yoshida’s been updating PlayStation 4 owners personally again via Twitter. This time it’s on the PS4′s lack of 3D Blu-ray compatibility. It doesn’t sound like a huge priority at the movement.

There won’t be a future update that allows you to turn off the DualShock 4′s light bar to save battery life or reduce reflection on your TV screen, Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida confims via Twitter.

Sony are teasing, “an important announcement about PocketStation”, for November 5th, promising it will be, “something that will shake the gaming industry”. The betting money’s currently on some kind of additional app for PS4 along side the PlayStation app itself.

After rumours of a Driveclub delay Shuhei Yoshida himself has announced that Evolution Studio’s PS4 racer will be delayed into “early 2014″ to “ensure that when [it] launches, it will realize the next gen racing vision”. Replacing it in the PS Plus free game line is Contrast (huh?) and a “Open Weekend” trial of Killzone Shadow Fall’s multiplayer.

Looks like that swish blue LED on the PS4 turns red when things get too hot. This picture of a PlayStation 4 sealed inside a plastic box shows what’s already being called ‘the red line of death’ because ‘overheating warning’ is way too plain. In case you’re worried they opened the case and everything went back to normal.

More PS4 details from the source of all knowledge that is Shuhei Yoshida’s Twitter. The PS4′s DualShock “basic functions” will be compatible with PC by default. Yoshida goes on to mention that the pad’s, “analog sticks and buttons will work just fine” by default.
