Codemasters has unveiled F1 2013, to no-one’s surprise. But among the usual list of tweaks, minor additions and improvements comes an all-new mode that brings legendary drivers in their iconic cars back into the game, along with a handful of retired but treasured tracks. For an annual release series, it’s a surprisingly substantial addition.

I’m not anti-snow, anti-co-op or even anti-cover shooter – it’s just that seeing all those new elements at once was at Dead Space 3′s reveal was like discovering Black Ops II will be a text adventure set in NATO conference rooms.

PES 2013

This season’s title race is already over, right? Not necessarily. After hands-on time with both FIFA 13 and PES 2013 the former still looks like the odds-on favourite for the coming season, but there are definitely things new Pro Evo does better than its longstanding rival – suggesting it still has a shot at glory when both games release later this year. Sleeping Dogs PS3

It looked like Sleeping Dogs might never happen – back when it was called True Crime: Hong Kong and then went all quiet, anyway. But Square Enix’s nefarious open worlder is back, with more substance, more detail and more slow-mo uzi fights on motorbikes than anyone was expecting – this could be 2012’s biggest sneak attack.

Borderlands 2 preview PS3

We go hands on with possibly the most mentally deranged shooter gaming has ever seen. Borderlands 2 is completely off it’s rocker but in the best possible way and has ‘cult classic’ written all over it. In crayon.
