Some new Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes screens have confirmed Psycho Mantis will be making an appearance. He’ll be part of the retro-styled Déjà Vu missions, which are exclusive to the PlayStation version of the game.

Konami has cut the price of Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes on PS4 from £39.99 to £29.99 for the boxed version. It’s still only 2 hours long though. The change is to “match the digital price for the consoles as well as the retail pricing for the physical editions”.

Barely hours after Kojima teased it, the MSG 5 Ground Zeroes PS4 bundle is live on Sony’s Japanese Store. Kojima’s also tweeted about the “PS4×MGSV FOX EDITION” confirming it’s “JPN ONLY”. For now.

Konami has published some Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes comparison screens showing the difference between the PS3 and PS4 versions. There’s a difference but not as huge as I thought. Obviously PS4′s better, something Kojima himself has said. The PlayStation 4 version is running 1080p at 60 fps while the PlayStation 3 version’s at 720p and 30fps.

Loads of new MGS 5 Ground Zeroes info is slipping out of hands on event in Japan including comments on the two hour length producing sub-10% completion levels. There’s also a lot of evidence pointing to the PS4 version being the strongest visually with Kojima himself praising its superiority.

More hard to swallow news for MGS fans: according to Konami’s latest financial investor call, The Phantom Pain may not hit the shelves until FY 15/16. That’s what market analyst David Gibson reckons, anyway. Market analysts: when are they ever wrong, eh?
