Hitman Absolution PS3 screen

This was meant to be a new Hitman: Absolution PS3 screen but I can’t see him anywhere. Maybe they labeled it wrong. Anyway it shows the American town of Hope, South Dakota where the storyline for the game seems to converge. Past trailers suggest this is a significant destination. Man, I really hope it’s one big open world environment where 47 has to carry out a number of hits because that would be amazing.

IO are at GDC at the moment showing off some tech demos. Specifically how to simulate a large (and I mean huge) crowd’s reaction to a bald man waving a gun (weirdly, people really don’t seem to like that). This new footage reveals a new China Town level and seems to show 47 hiding among small crowds, Ezio style.

Hitman Absolution GDC tech demo

German site videogameszone.de have posted a talk by IO about crowd control in Hitman: Absolution. It follows on from the screen they revealed a few days ago showing what Hitman: Absolution’s 1200 strong crowds would look like. This video isn’t as good as the full playthrough videogameszone.de posted initially then immediately took down but it’s better than nothing.

Let’s play “Where’s 47?” A new Hitman Absolution screen shows what the game’s larger areas will be like and reveals a new Chinatown location. Presumably at Chinese New Year. It’s all part of IO’s Glacier 2 engine which has been developed partially to enable the team to create large populated areas.

An animation demo of an alternate non-Arkham Batman game based on the Gotham By Gaslight comic’s Victorian setting has recently surfaced. Now a Day 1 employee (the developer behind the test) has popped up on Reddit to explain a little bit more about it and it’s unusual connection to Hitman: Absolution.

Hitman: Absolution director Tore Blystad talks about evolving the series while staying true to it’s roots; IO adapting to be a multigame studio and how they’re taking hints on making “complex games” from Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix Montreal. It’s a really interesting interview with loads on both the creative process and the new gameplay mechanics. A must read for any Hitman fan.

Hitman Absolution missing barcode PS3

Well, everything looks in order in this Hitman Absolution shot – Agent 47?s keeping that bonce tidy, trademark suit’s in check, wait… where’s that iconic barcode tattoo on the back of his head? It appears to have been removed, and with the precision of a back-street organ transplant to boot. What in the name of contract killing is going on? We asked Absolution’s director Tore Blystad.

See what I did there? Anyway, Siliconera have unearthed a new Square Enix trademark for Hitman Sniper Challenge. As they point out this sounds like it could be a mobile game, although a Move controlled thing could be cool. It makes me think the other trademark unearthed, Hitman Profession, could be a Facebook Mafia Wars style game. Either way, what with the novelisation announced yesterday, it sounds like they’re going for Hitman everywhere.

Following on from last week’s Hitman Absolution preview, we’ve got a fresh interview with gameplay director Cristian Everdam. During our murdery discussion, we grill him on why we’ve not seen the series’ traditional sandbox areas yet, making Agent 47 more powerful than even before and the possibility of seeing PS2 HD remakes of Blood Money and Silent Assassin.
