AR card main image

This feels like the start of an arms race of sorts. Props then to Paul Beeston and Andy Williams for testing just how big you can take Reality Fighters. This high street madness came about after Andy casually mentioned he could print two meter cards. The obvious thing to do with this knowledge was then to take to the pavement and see just how big you could go.

Within a week of the PS Vita’s launch in America and Europe Sony have announced sales have hit 1.2 million units “worldwide as of February 26, 2012″. You can probably add a couple more on since then. Uncharted Golden Abyss

NeoGAFers have unearthed a nice little Uncharted: Golden Abyss Easter egg on PS Vita. I’m not going to spoil the fun by saying what happens but considering you have to play through the game on Crushing it’s proabably going to be a lot easier to watch the video.

Early PS Vita concept

I spoke to Studio Liverpool and Wipeout senior designer Karl Jones at this week’s PS Vita UK launch and he had an interesting insight into how the console was created. Several developers had talked about having a say in the PS Vita’s birth, including MotorStorm RC’s director Paul Rustchynsky who talked about having “input into what we thought would be a really good idea for the console.”

PSVita-PlayStation-Store-2

The EU Blog have published a list of everything heading to the PSN for the PS Vita’s imminent launch. As well as free games there’s a wide range of pricing, from a fiver up to £34.99 for Uncharted. There’s also network passes, demos and a range of DLC. Network passes aside (honestly, who likes them?) It’s a pretty good Store debut all in all.

COD PS Vita

Guy Longworth, the SVP of PlayStation brand marketing has outed a release date for Call of Duty on the PS Vita in a recent interview saying, “For my boys who are 14 and 15, they love the first first person shooters so they’re really enjoying Unit 13 right now. And of course, in the Autumn, they’re really looking forward to Call of Duty on Vita”. If he let it slip by accident he’s…

PS VITa

Sony have just announced that you’ll only pay once for any of the games you can play on both PS3 and PS Vita. Those titles currently include: MotorStorm RC, Top Darts, Hustle Kings, and the DLC for both WipEout HD/HD Fury for WipEout 2048 and the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 DLC. The key words are “there is no need to pay for the same content twice” which, to be honest,…

Here’s the TV spot Sony will be using to pimp the PS Vita. It’s recaptured that ‘I’ve conquered worlds’ vibe using the the tag line ‘The world is in play’. It’s rousing stuff with people magically transported to Normandy beaches, football matches, jungles and a submarine on a train platform. God knows what that last one’s about.
