The EU Blog have published a list of everything heading to the PSN for the PS Vita’s imminent launch. As well as free games there’s a wide range of pricing, from a fiver up to £34.99 for Uncharted. There’s also network passes, demos and a range of DLC. Network passes aside (honestly, who likes them?) It’s a pretty good Store debut all in all.

COD PS Vita

Guy Longworth, the SVP of PlayStation brand marketing has outed a release date for Call of Duty on the PS Vita in a recent interview saying, “For my boys who are 14 and 15, they love the first first person shooters so they’re really enjoying Unit 13 right now. And of course, in the Autumn, they’re really looking forward to Call of Duty on Vita”. If he let it slip by accident he’s the boss so he’ll have to tell himself off. When asked if he knew what flavour of COD it might be he replied “Not yet we’re still working on that”.

PS VITa

Sony have just announced that you’ll only pay once for any of the games you can play on both PS3 and PS Vita. Those titles currently include: MotorStorm RC, Top Darts, Hustle Kings, and the DLC for both WipEout HD/HD Fury for WipEout 2048 and the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 DLC. The key words are “there is no need to pay for the same content twice” which, to be honest, I think most of us were expecting anyway.

The press release says, “For those who already own any of these titles for their PS3 systems, will be able to download this same content to their PS Vita systems for free, and vice versa.  There is no need to pay for the same content twice, highlighting the importance of the relationship between PS3 and PS Vita.”

The PS Vita release date in the EU is 22nd February 2012. We’ve got some PS Vita launch game reviews, the complete PS Vita launch line up, as well as a list of the best PS Vita deals we’ve found.

Here’s the TV spot Sony will be using to pimp the PS Vita. It’s recaptured that ‘I’ve conquered worlds’ vibe using the the tag line ‘The world is in play’. It’s rousing stuff with people magically transported to Normandy beaches, football matches, jungles and a submarine on a train platform. God knows what that last one’s about.

Vita

There’s a new Inside PS Vita video over at the PlayStation EU blog. It covers Cross Play – Vita’s ability to link up with PS3 so you can play cross platform games like Wipeout 2048. Remote Play to enjoy your PS3 games on PS Vita. But it also mentions the old ‘PSP as a seperate monitor’ trick.

Pete Smith, the executive producer at XDEV Studio Europe says, ”Another thing you can do which I think is incredibly exciting, is using the PS Vita and PS3 to connect as a sub-display. It’s showing the gameplay from a different perspective than the PS3 player has got. This opens up a lot of opportunities, especially for co-operative play, where one person has a different role where they’re viewing the action from a differently from the other player on PS3″.

PS Vita launch titles

Listen – did you hear that? That’s the relentless passing of time, and it draws PS Vita’s UK launch ever closer. With just 13 days until Sony’s new handheld hits the stores, I’ll refrain from fumbling around with the words to Twelve Days of Christmas and instead give you the complete, 26-game launch line up in all its glory.

PS Vita Voda phone

Vodafone have finally admitted they are indeed Sony’s preferred 3G partner with a new web page announcing all the full details, (trust me, we phoned them up just before Christmas and no one had any idea what we were talking about). The only important bit of the page is where it mentions you’ll get Wipeout 2048 for free when you top with £5 of credit.

As far as making me not hate them for the Yoda advert it’s a start.

PS Vita social

This new Inside PS Vita video from the EU Blog shows off all the social and connectivity stuff you can look forward to playing around with when the Vita is released on the 22nd of February. It’s not all Twitter updates apparently with things like Live Area acting like an in-game online community page and, best of all, Near’s ability to let you drop score challenges in the real world for other people to find. It’ll just leave this killer Wipeout 2048 lap time next to the yoghurt in Sainsburys. Because… I can.

As well as the new The Last Of Screens that GI released last night, a few scraps of info teased out as well. Ellie will be an AI companion in the game and her AI is apparently “one of [Naughty Dog's] primary areas of focus. GI, who have seen the game in action, said “In our demo she always managed to keep up, yet stay out of the way. She didn’t seem to need any babysitting at all.” Well done Ellie, have a biscuit.
