Deep Down delayed on PS4 to “fully use the hardware”

Deep Down is currently only confirmed for release in Japan and was due to start a beta around the end of February. Producer Kazunori Sugiura has now said “I think we’ll give full fledged information to everyone after the summer”. The full reason for the delay according to Sugiura is “since we don’t want to risk to be told ‘This could have been done on PS3!’ we want to finish a game that fully uses the PS4 hardware specs.”

The delay comes not long after Capcom‘s Masura Ijuin claimed “The amount of work involved in making games for next-gen consoles is eight to ten times greater than current generation” while talking about the new Panta Rhei engine powering Deep Down.
