PS4 update adding compatibility for wireless headsets today

The new Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0 for PS4 will be released on the 10th of February and cost £79.99. That packs in 7.1 virtual surround sound and a noise-cancelling internal microphone. It charges via USB and promises 8 hours battery life.

There’s also going to be a free Headset Companion App on the Store that will let you set up custom sound modes depending on whether you’re listening to games, movies or music. Sucker Punch are apparently developing the first custom sound mode for inFamous Second Son. There’s also a range of preset EQs, as well as the ability to make your own.
