Essential PS4 set up guide – tips & tricks for your PlayStation 4

Log into Facebook & use your real name on PS4

Where: Settings/PSN/Link with Other Services

This usually gets done the first time you go to Share a video, as Facebook is the only place you can currently post PS4 content. If that’s not your cup of tea though it’s still worth setting it up so that you can import your real name and profile pic – a Godsend if you’re stuck with an embarrassing PSN ID. You’ll also be able to then ask for your friends real names in turn (something you need to request permission for). One thing you should think carefully about are what gets posted to Facebook. Bear in mind that if you turn all the Facebook publish settings on so that all ‘game event stories’ and trophies are published to ‘public’ then you could end up a gaming spam bot. The options under ‘Who can see my posts on Facebook’ include, public, friends, only me and any groups you might be a member of. Make sure whoever gets to see all your achievements wants to. You can also use these options to set up Twitter as well as change anything later.
