Killzone Mercenary gets a second 1GB patch, needs 2G to install
[Update: there's a new Killzone Mercenary patch to reduce memory card size & add free maps.]
Ouch. You’ve got a big PS Vita memory card right? The second Killzone Mercenary patch is on the way and it’s another 1GB monster. The extra bad news is that you’ll need that extra memory on top of the first Killzone Mercenary 1GB patch, although you’ll get it back – once the new update’s installed the old one will be deleted.

Matt Porter, the technical director at Guerrilla Cambridge, says, “We are currently investigating solutions to reduce the overall size of the title and free up more of your valuable memory card space. We hope to be able to share more news on that work very soon”. Porter says the main areas the update addresses are:
- The other main area of work has been to provide a better distribution of respawn points across all game modes. The intention here is to give a better balance to the multiplayer games.
- We’ve also addressed the issue that some of you were reporting with load-out slots not being unlocked, in addition to problems with the melee medal (which was always being awarded as a “bronze”).
- Finally, there are also a number of stability fixes, to address some of the crashes that have been reported.
