Project Phoenix JRPG coming to PS4 – ex-Final Fantasy devs & composer Nobuo Uematsu onboard
Project Phoenix is promising to return to the glory days of classic JRPGs on PS4 and it’s got some serious talent to back that up. Developers from just about all the Final Fantasies are on the team as well as the series’ beloved composer, Nobuo Uematsu. Elsewhere there’s talent from Diablo 3, Skyrim, Assassin’s Creed 2 and more. It’s one hell of all-star line up.
Project Phoenix JRPG coming to PS4
The kickstarted game is currently at $735,709, well over the original $100,000 goal and promises to recapture, “The true essence of the JRPG”. The blurb describes the game thus:
“Project Phoenix is a fantasy themed squad-based real-time strategy game combined with Japanese RPG design influences. The game draws you in with its breathtaking fantasy world, deep storyline, Japanese character designs, and a memorable cast, most notably, the band of heroes under your command. Furthermore, its intuitive real-time tactical combat is dynamic, fluid, and streamlined, allowing you to experience the strategic options without being bogged down by overwhelming archaic battle systems.”
