Announced at last night’s SonyGamecom show, LittleBigPlanet Hub is a free-to-play download edition of the game heading to PS3. Now there are more details explaining exactly what you get for no money.
LittleBigPlanet Hub first details & trailer
Nicknamed Planet Hub it’s a completely free PSN download that’ll be available later in the year. Initially it provides a pod and a “access to a full range of free and exclusive content to kick-start your very own adventures on LittleBigPlanet”.
Essentially while the initial download is free, everything from LBP 1 and 2 will be available to buy through “a variety of options”. I’m going to guess microtransactions for individual items and bundle prices for themed DLC packs and collections.
The Hub will also include an exclusive level with its own items and extras to collect as well as free access to the first worlds in LBP 1 and 2 – 16 levels in all, complete with all the costumes and collectables they contain. Those who’ve already played either game will be able to use their profiles to unlock everything they’ve already got. Most importantly access to the Create Mode and tools are unrestricted.
