Look, you know what it is, and I know what it is so lets skip that bit. PlayStation Vita Pets is a dog sim coming to Sony’s handheld in 2014 and promising to be “more than just a pet sim”.
PlayStation Vita Pets
Kevin Oxland, the creative director developer Spiral House claims “PlayStation Vita Pets is no ordinary pet game!” Apparently there’s more here than just grooming and dressing up puppies. “We set out to make something that was more than just a pet sim – we wanted to make something that felt like a real game, with characters, fun and adventure, so that’s exactly what we did”.
There are four puppies to chose from, “each with their own personality, sense of humour and character traits”. All the activities you might expect are there. You can wash and dress the animals as well as train and play with them. The ‘more than a sim’ bit comes once you’ve trained them up as you’re then allowed to, “venture outside the safety of your home [and] embark (no pun intended) on the adventure of Castlewood Island!” Areas mentioned include a forrest, old mines, graveyards and a castle. There’s also talk of a story and a slightly spooky vibe to the goings on.
There’s also an interesting mention of PS Vita‘s AR features although no specifics yet. The game will get a first showing at Gamescom next week.
