PS4 pre-order deadline has passed – retailers no longer guaranteeing day-one delivery
If you haven’t already pre-ordered a PS4 it’s unlikely you’ll now get one at launch if you place an order now with the PS4 pre-order deadline apparently in effect and reports that, “Sony has suspended Guaranteed Day 1 Pre-Ordering.”
Sony have suspended Guaranteed Day 1 PS4 Pre-Ordering
Retailers have started to inform those now placing pre-orders that they cannot be guaranteed a console for launch day. Amazon is citing “high demand” and saying, “orders placed for this PlayStation 4 console from August 6 may be received after release date. We will ship orders as soon as we receive sufficient inventory.” Asda on the other hand reaffirm that orders received before the 5th of August will arrive on “day of launch” but after that “Sony has suspended Guaranteed Day 1 Pre-Ordering.”
However, all is not lost. Retailers have been promised additional units at launch so at this point your best bet for getting a PS4 on day one is waiting until they’re in the shops and grabbing one then.
