9 PS4 games doing something different on next-gen – new social ideas, clever tech or just… weird

We were skeptical of Destiny at first. Incredibly excited to the point we wanted to play it right here and now, but skeptical, too. That’s because what Bungie is doing with the game is unlike anything that’s ever been tried on this scale before. It’s a hugely open, social world that’s wrapped around its laser-focused core FPS mechanics, but it’s not an MMO – Bungie have called it a “shared world shooter.” Its beautiful universe, the persistent structure of its multiplayer/single player crossover and the top notch combat makes it top of our 2014 wishlist and a game that’s doing completely unique stuff on the PS4.
