thatgamecompany’s new title “will more likely be on PS4″ is “very different from Journey” and may use touch controls
thatgamecompany has taken to Twitter to answers questions, including the likelihood of its new game appearing on PS4, the chances of a Journey sequel and why its new title will be “very different” from the haunting desert trek.
With the studio having completed its three game contract with Sony, it’s now going multi-platform with its new game, but stresses it “will more likely be on PS4″ than presumably, Xbox One because of that machine’s current publishing restrictions. The team stresses the project is “a non-Journey title”, but seeing has Sony still maintains the rights to PSN’s best ever selling game, it could “have another developer make a Journey game if we don’t.”
thatgamecompany’s new game has been in pre-production for a year, but as yet the developer is only offering the barest hints at how it might play, stating: “I can’t talk about what our next game’s controls will be or platforms, but I can say that we’re looking into touch controls.”
Teasingly, it also revealed there’s a secret Twitter account that it’s been using to upload concept art for the new game over the past seven months. Apparently “it follows our naming convention, so if you look hard enough, you just might find it.”
You dirty, wonderfully talented teases.
