Here’s Braid creator Jonathan Blow talking about being an indie developer on PS4 and the priorities driving his new game The Witness. Apparently it’s not about money at all.
Jonathan Blow on making The Witness as a PS4 indie
This is the latest in a series of Sony videos interviewing creators on making PS4 games. Here Blow talks about the positives of being an independent developer. Among them are creative freedom and not having to worry about money. “We have the freedom not to have to make a huge profit if we don’t have to,” he explains. “I would definitely like to make our money back and I would like to make a profit on it but it’s not actually the number one priority. The number one priority is to make the best possible game we can make, that can bring the most beneficial experience to the player”.
