Dust 514 and EVE Online about to merge – crossplatform interaction from January the 10th

Dust 514 DLC screens

A post over at the EVE Online forums has announced the PS3 free-to-play shooter Dust 514 and PC Space-’em-up EVE Online are set to merge on January 10th. From that point players will be able to interact across platforms by hiring and attacking each other.

Dust 514 and EVE Online integration

According to the post, “This migration comes with a reset of character skills and corporations for the Dust players”. That’s not great but it will reportedly be, “the last reset for Dust characters”.

The integration will see Dust 514 players moved from the the Singularity server to Tranquility. That will also introduce the first stages of interaction between the two games. According to the post, “Dust mercenaries can accept contracts offered by NPC Faction Warfare militias and fight to attack or defend them in the form of corporation battles. These come with the risk of losing a collateral payment of ISK, but a victory will secure a district on one of the many temperate planets in Faction Warfare space. The more districts a militia has control over, the fewer victory points will be required for EVE Faction Warfare pilots to take ownership of the system”.

Dust 514 players can also create and join their own corporations and also communicate in the EVE world. They also say orbital bombardments will also be enables, letting PC EVE players unleash Tactical Strikes on PS3 Dust 514 players. Could get interesting.

Thanks EVE Online.
