Rethink the Animus
For all the obvious strengths of having a machine that can transport you to anywhere in history, the undecided and inconclusive nature of the Animus has made for some really dull mumbo jumbo. The contrast between rich historical cities and the present day feels disjointed. We groaned when we were heaved out of medieval Jerusalem, we moaned when we were ripped from renaissance Venice, and we were pulling our faces off by the time Assassin’s Creed 3 came around and we were still being interrupted by the present day. The world outside the Animus adds painfully little to the experience. Either make it fun or take it out completely, Ubi, we dare you.
