EA boss Frank Gibeau has “seen” PS4

EA’s president of labels Frank Gibeau confirmed to an audience at Gamescom that he’s had eyes-on contact with the PlayStation 4.

PlayStation 4 spotted by EA boss

“I’ve seen both of them,” he said, referring to Sony’s next generation console and… we don’t possibly know what th other thing is he could be talking about. Maybe two PS4s next to each other?

“Ten years ago we used to measure our market in terms of 200 million people. Now we are at a billion people playing games, and we have a straight line view on 2 billion,” Gibeau continued, before predicting that free-to-play will become the primary pricing structure in the games industry: “Free to play will become the dominant pricing model by the end of the decade.” See?

There have been no shortages of industry rumours and supposed leaks about what the PS4 might be like and when it might arrive – from a smartphone-friendly camera thingy we reported on via some leaked PlayStation Orbis documents to a more traditional next gen console. But officially, there’s no next-gen console in existence. Officially.

Thanks, Gamespot.
