LittleBigPlanet 2 hits 7 million levels, celebrates with stat Christmas tree
LittleBigPlanet has passed the seven million user-created level mark, according to its official blog. “Around the same time Usain Bolt pzwned the 100m sprint at the London 2012 Olympics, the seven millionth level was published to the LittleBigPlanet servers” writes developer Media Molecule, presumably while lassoing the corks out of Champagne bottles.
LittleBigPlanet’s 7 million levels
According to the colourful Christmas tree graphic on the blog, LittleBigPlanet’s online community have added the last million levels in just seven months, shooting up from the six million milestone that was passed in January. “These stats alone show that despite the game series being fairly old, it is in no way slowing down,” says Media Molecule, “and the community is as strong and active as ever before.”
Other stats of interest include the total number of former community members now working full-time at Media Molecule (25), number of computers that perished during development of the series (120), and the total weight of coffee beans consumed by the studio since LBP’s release in 2008 (an eyeball-popping 347kg).
