Free triple-A games on the way to PlayStation Plus

PlayStation Plus e3 update

Update: It really was just a matter of time. Over at the EU blog they’ve covered exactly how the new ‘instant game collection’ will work for European PS Plus members. Starting Wednesday 6th June, 10 games will be available to play for free for anyone with a PS Plus membership.

Here’s where it gets a bit complicated. There’ll be a game of the month which changes every four weeks, starting with Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown. Then you’ll get six further games, which will be replaced in pairs every 12 weeks. Here’s the list of starters:

  • Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine
  • Chime Super Deluxe
  • Darksiders
  • Renegade Ops
  • Outland
  • Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD

Finally, members will have access to the following titles at all times:

  • inFamous 2
  • Motorstorm Apocalypse
  • LittleBigPlanet 2

1+6+3=10. Simple. Sort of.

Original post: Sony has announced a number of free triple-A titles heading to American PlayStation Plus members this week, with European members expected to reap the same rewards shortly after.

InFamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2 and Saints Row 2 will all be free to play for PS Plus subscribers, and Sony’s promising an increase in free to play triple-A titles for members, with 12 new games coming in June alone.

Details of this extra content arriving in Europe have yet to be confirmed, but surely it’s only a matter of time?
