Bioshock Infinite multiplayer causing delay?
A job ad for a position at Irrational Games is looking for a “talented and experienced individual to help us with the networking aspects of BioShock Infinite”.
The listing at Gamasutra states the developer is “innovative in our approach, solid in our implementation, and we polish the heck out of everything we do. Networking is no exception.” This potentially could explain the recent Bioshock Infinite release date delay.
Ken Levine has been vocal in the past saying he wasn’t interested in multiplayer but this ad specifically asks for the applicant to have previous experience with “matchmaking, stat tracking and analysis, in-game push updates, etc”. The job listing also expresses a specific preference for console knowledge.
Gaming rumour mill and leak source superannuation has also tweeted “Irrational was exploring [&] prototyping a bunch of potential multiplayer things”.
