GT Academy 2012 starts May 1st with Kazunori Yamauchi created qualification event
This year’s GT Academy will be starting on May 1st and qualification will be via a special online qualification event developed by series’ director Kazunori Yamauchi. Fancy being a real racing driver? Then this is your chance.
If you’ve missed the last four years then the GT Academy is a PlayStation/Nissan competition that sees the winner train to be a real race driver. This year’s event involves the online qualifier, national finals and a series of live racing challenges that ultimately pick a winner who can potentially race for Nissan at the Dubai 24H race in January 2013.
Previous winners include Lucas Ordonez who placed on the podium for last year’s Le Mans 24H, and Jordan Tresson and Jann Mardenborough who are both racing professionally these days.
