Assassin’s Creed 3 cast: who are you going to meet (kill) from American history?
So it’s official. Ubisoft has finally blown the secret lid off Assassin’s Creed 3 and plonked us in the tree-hopping shoes of Connor – a half English, half Native American with a penchant for tomahawks and standing about looking awesome in a hood. But who will he be up against? Who’ll be on his side? The American Revolutionary War was a boiling pot of bloody battles and political back-stabbing, so here’s our rundown of the key players and how they might fit into the Assassins-verse.
Unlike his father Benjamin, William threw his lot in with the Brits during the Revolution, stubbornly fighting against the American uprising. We reckon the Franklin father-son tiff might just play a prominent role in Assassin’s Creed 3. William was also allegedly involved in the death of Joshua Huddy – a commander in the Patriot militia. Did he call upon Connor to do the dirty?
If Benedict Arnold doesn’t feature somewhere in AC 3 then we’ll eat our hidden blade. A general in the American army, Arnold turned his cloak and secretly plotted to surrender West Point – a fortified site under his command – to the British. The plot was stamped out when Arnold’s underling John André was captured with incriminating papers, and subsequently skewered. Sounds like a professional job to us.
Joseph Brant / Thayendanegea
With fingers sunk in both military and political pies, Mohawk leader Joseph Brant fought with the British during the Revolution. Regarded as the most famous Native American of his generation, Brant headed multiple (and brutal) partisan raids on American colonists in the Mohawk Valley. Remember the setting of the CG trailer? We wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Brant crossing swords with Connor at some point.
