Assassin’s Creed 3 first trailer and screens reveal release date, new character Connor, and epic American Revolutionary War era
Ooh, what a lovely war. The first Assassin’s Creed 3 trailer has just hit and it features old timey American Revolutionary War murdering on a grand scale. Plus tomahawk deaths, wolves chowing down on corpses and all the stabby wonder of the 18th century US frontier.
According to a Ubisoft press release, Assassin’s Creed 3’s main character Connor “will be born of Mohawk and British blood”. So part Native American/part English, then. Apparently, his full name is Ratohnaké:ton (that colon really doesn’t look right to us).
His adventure is set during the US Revolution in the 18th century – that’d be the conflict that pitted British against… uh, other British… in America, for some reason.
Assassin’s Creed 3’s release date is set for 31 October and has been in development for over three years, utilising a brand new engine. Not surprising, when you look at the damn near ‘awe’ and ‘inspiring’ scale of the action towards the end of the trailer.
Apparently, Connor/ Ratohnaké:ton’s adventure will span both the frontier and colonial towns, where the stabby protagonist will enter an ancient war between the Assassins and Templars… and also presumably George Washington’s Continental army clashing with the British Army.
Here’s some new Assassin’s Creed 3 screens from the trailer…
