SSX, Assassin’s Creed 3 & Resident Evil 6 – PS3 release date news 1/3/12
In a new weekly regular I’ll bring you all the latest release date news, including what’s out this week, what exciting stuff is up ahead, and what’s just been given a firm street date. Although given the reliability of these things, such dates are, in reality, likely to be about as firm as the two-month old bit of cucumber I found down the back of my fridge this morning.
Out this week
Prepare to have Run-DMC stuck in your head for the rest of the day, because SSX makes its triumphant console return and – oh yes – it’s tricky. Like trying to do a Rubik’s cube blindfolded while finding your way out of an M.C. Escher painting. There’s also Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition, which brings you last year’s spinal-cord splattered reboot along with all subsequent DLC in one lovely box.
A few juicy titbits of release information have trickled our way this past week, starting with The Amazing Spider-Man which has now been confirmed for 29 June. Gravity Rush, one of the most exciting-looking Vita titles to date, will be two weeks prior on 13 June. There’s also been a two-week delay to the Silent Hill HD Collection, meaning you can sleep easy until 23 March.
Looking further into our (slightly chipped) crystal ball, Assassin’s Creed 3 is set to make it a happy Halloween with a 30 October release, Far Cry 3 slips in ahead at 7 September, and Resident Evil 6 will follow up its bombastic trailer by hitting 23 November.
Next week’s release slate is busy like Commander Shepard’s ‘To do’ list, so be sure to check back then. And remember: all dates – unlike our blanket ban on films starring Matthew McConaughey – are subject to change.
