PS Vita’s launch titles: action game roundup
‘I want action!’…sang 80′s rockers and hairspray enthusiasts Poison, and their words are as true today as they were in 1933 when the song was first recorded. After all, who doesn’t want action? You will, when PS Vita arrives on 22 Feb. Especially after reading our ultra-happy-fun-time PS Vita action launch title roundup – featuring Dungeon Hunter Alliance, Dynasty Warriors Next, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus, Shinobido 2 and, of course, Uncharted Golden Abyss.
Dungeon Hunter Alliance (Ubisoft)
Role-playing hack n’ slash from mobile gaming wonderkids Gameloft (of Assassins Creed mobile fame). You’ll choose between mage, rogue and warrior classes and fight across randomly generated levels of RPG-lite fun – expect a portable version of the PSN title, basically.
Dynasty Warriors Next (Tecmo Koei)
It’s the usual large-scale slaughter you’d expect from those dynastic warriors on offer here, but with a real focus on touch control. Special attacks are all touch-screen driven, allowing you to aim where you want to direct a power attack by dragging it across the screen. Pretty satisying stuff. Oh, and characters and visuals have hopped over from Dynasty Warriors 7, which means Zhen Ji’s absurd flute attack returns.
