The Darkness II, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Assassins Creed Revelations: The cheapest PS3 games this week 09/02/12

Darkness 2 PS3

While the world teeters on the verge of economic collapse like a house of cards on a cliff edge, we diligently dredge through the internets to find you the best deals on the games you want to play. Why? It’s a sick compulsion, and we’d rather not talk about it. Let’s just enjoy the sweet, sweet deals.

The big release:

The Darkness II is this week’s big release. We love the tendrils out of it, as you’ll see when you read our Official PlayStation Magazine Darkness II review.  Where’s the cheapest place to pick it up?

Well, the absolute cheapest place to buy it new is Playr2 for £36.95, but bear in mind that’s the standard edition, not the fancy holographic limited edition. The best price we’ve found for that is at Gamestop for £37.97.

Under £20:

Assassins Creed Revelations for under twenty nicker? You’re having a laugh, intcha?  Look at our cold, dead eyes; we’re not having a laugh. You can pick up Ezio’s latest romp for a bargainous £19.97 at Amazon. Pre-owned, mind.

If you need convincing that it’s even worth bothering about for that money, our Official PlayStation Magazine UK Assassins Creed Revelations review should get you in the mood. 9/10, don’t you know.

Worth a punt:

Final Fantasy XIII-2 might not be at the very top of your shopping list, and since an 8/10 review is now considered an indication that a game’s all but unplayable, perhaps our Final Fantasy XIII-2 review put you off.

Contrary to the notion that anything less than a 9/10 is garbage though, FFXIII-2 has many, many hours of enjoyable esoteric adventuring on offer, and considering it’s priced at £32.97 on Amazon, it’s well worth a punt for that price.
