The £60 essential PlayStation collection
As the economy shrinks, wallets stiffen and OPM offices run dangerously low on foie gras we huddle round dim embers of the last smouldering Final Fantasy XIII guidebook in the car park and swap tales of legendary bargains. Think of this as an austerity measures special. Maybe you got a PS3 for Christmas and still haven’t sorted out a decent library of games. Perhaps you just need a guiding hand on getting all the best PS3 titles together at a decent price. That’s why, in these times of coal munching hardship, we’ve built a solid £60 list of essential PlayStation games.
Namco Heritage Bundle (PS1)
£5.49 from PSN
The quality of Tekken and Ridge Racer (Type 4 in this bundle) basically sold PlayStations back in the day. The day, in case you don’t remember, was a bit blockier and slower than we might be used to now but you can’t deny class and this little bundle works out at less than £3 per slice of gaming gold.
Killzone 3 (PS3)
£9.99 from Blockbuster
You’ve got to have one big budget blaster on this list and at less than a tenner Killzone 3 is a steal. It’s all bullets, bombs and buckets of Helghast blood because sometimes, come that Friday night in on your own, you don’t want cerebral you want a really loud gun and a scumbag to point it at.
The Tomb Raider Trilogy (Classic HD) (PS3)
£8.04 from Gzoop via Amazon
Three games in one box is a good deal. Three cracking games from the PlayStation’s classic era all for less than a tenner? We heartily say yes and clink our glasses in a toast to an old flame, a cracking lass who likes to get a bit mucky and shoot endangered species in the face; which we used to find endearing.
