Uncharted: Golden Abyss – Behind the Scenes

Golden Abyss mo cap

Bend Studios have released two mo-cap videos from upcoming PS Vita title Uncharted: Golden Abyss over on the US PlayStation Blog. Nolan North(Drake) and Richard McGonagle (Sully) are in their best Tron outfits and it’s an interesting, if a little spoilery, look behind the scenes before the game’s 22nd of February release date.

Creative Director at Bend Studios, John Garvin, explains on the post that by the time of shooting in February 2011 there had been over 40 revisions to the script that ended up being over 400 pages in length. “Writing and performance capture was just the beginning,” Garvin explains, “What followed was an intense year of motion capture, clean up, animation, camera work, set building, lip synching, prop building, and editing, sound and music by a team of over 50 artists working across five different studios.” Oooft, we’re exhausted just thinking about it. See the motion capture artists in action in the video below and check out another one in the full Uncharted: Golden Abyss – The characters unmasked post over on the US PlayStation Blog.
