New Hitman game called Profession
Silconera have uncovered a trademark filed over the holidays for Hitman: Profession. It must be the ‘other’ Hitman game that the recently founded Square Enix Montreal announced they would be working on, in addition to IO’s upcoming Hitman: Absolution. It’ll be made in collaboration with IO but will be the first outing for Agent 47 that the studio won’t develop itself.
Lee Singleton, the head of Square’s new studio previously told Gamasutra that “We’ve not locked our tech solution yet, but we do have an option to use the proprietary Glacier 2 engine that’s been developed by IO Interactive in Denmark”. That suggests this might be a new kind of Hitman game. The ‘Profession’ suffix has a whiff of multiplayer to it as far as I’m concerned. Maybe you’ll be creating your own professional and taking them to market to earn bucks for murder. Just remember, “the rifle is the first weapon you learn how to use, because it lets you keep your distance from the client. The closer you get to being a pro, the closer you can get to the client. The knife, for example, is the last thing you learn”.
